The reputation stat is an interesting concept, i'd love to see this in a triple A game. I would like to see some illustrations too for it to be more immersive.
This game was so cute and fun to play. I like the idea of a reputation stat, I never would have thought to do that. Like the others have said, I do wish that I could see the characters so if you have the chance, definitely add illustrations in the future.
This is very cute! I like how all the characters are likeable but also subtly menacing. I think this would be even more engaging and entertaining with some illustrations, even just little character illustrations of the worm and the butterfly!
When the game is displayed on the web page, I feel that the window size is a bit too small.
After I click "Swim across the river", there is an error in the program.
This is a very interesting story, and I like the setting of reputation. The Talking Worm caught the player's attention from the beginning and kept the player playing.
One thing you might want to change is that after the game is over, when the player presses "begin" to restart the game, reputation and health are not recalculated.
I would add (set: $reputation to 50) (set: $health to 100) in the start passage to reset the data.
Looking forward to seeing the pictures in the game!
Thank you for the tip!! I just tried adding that into the start passage & re-uploaded. Hopefully it's better now! Pictures will definitely come soon :)
I just restart the game again and it works now!
the way you make it clear that your reputation impacts how well things go for you coupled with how clear the impact various dialog options will have on your reputation means that it is fairly easy to figure out the "correct" path through the game. But the characters and dialog make it worthwhile to explore the less "optimal" routs through the game. I did get a small bug that didn't reset my health and reputation through restarting the game though.
This was so fun! I love the personalities of the characters!
They made the game so bright and colorful, even without any images. That's pretty cool! You should keep making characters like that. :)
The story was also very nice. I like how the result depends on your actions; it makes me want to replay to see what else can happen!
This was a cute game! I would have liked to know what the stakes were, how many humans had died, why was the worm sending tiny humans, how was he turning them tiny? I also would have loved to see some pictures at pivotal moments. Your use of reputation and health was nice as well!
some pictures could make it more visually appealing but it's a cute story
